Britannia Paints Aquashield Instant Waterproof Roof Coating

Britannia Paints Aquashield is an instant waterproof roof coating for roof leak repairs and general exterior maintenance. Its solvent-based acrylic formula contains reinforcing fibres that help bridge small gaps and cracks, forming a protective barrier over suitable roofing surfaces in just one coat.

Ideal for repairs to flat roofs, pitched roofs and gutters, Aquashield can be used on felt, weathered asphalt and bituminous surfaces, concrete, brickwork, GRP, fibreglass and suitably prepared metal. It provides waterproof protection immediately after application, so rainfall straight after coating does not affect its waterproofing performance.

Ready to use and easy to apply by brush, roller or squeegee, this fibre-reinforced roof repair coating is a practical choice for tackling localised leaks and maintaining existing roofs. Most roofing substrates do not normally need a primer, although porous or friable surfaces and metals require the appropriate preparation and primer.

Choose from Grey, Black or Solar Reflective White in 1kg, 2.5kg, 5kg and 20kg containers to suit the repair area.

Application guidance: Remove moss, lichen, debris, standing water, oil and grease, and allow the surface to dry before applying. Stir well and apply between 5°C and 25°C. Typical coverage is approximately 1kg per m² for a standard coat, or 1–2kg per m² for a high-build coat, depending on the substrate. Touch dry in approximately 3–4 hours and fully cured in 6–7 days, depending on conditions.

Suitability: For exterior use only. Not suitable for EPDM, timber, PVC, Plastisol, walkways, balconies or areas subject to heavy foot traffic. Porous or friable surfaces and metals may require a specific primer. Where a full waterproofing system is needed, Aquashield can provide an effective repair barrier until a more permanent solution is installed.
