Novia Double Sided Butyl Tape

The Novia Double Sided Butyl Tape is a high-performance polyisobutylene (PIB) based sealing tape designed to provide airtight and moisture vapour-tight joints in vapour control layers, airtightness membranes, and gas barrier installations. Cost-effective and non-toxic, it requires no tools for application and delivers excellent adhesion to most substrates.

Essential for maintaining airtightness and moisture resistance around mechanical fixings, the tape reseals around penetrations to prevent leakage. This makes it especially valuable in high-spec applications such as Passive House projects and in sealing gas membranes to protect against hazardous gases.

For maximum performance, butyl tape installations should include a secondary overlap layer using either Novia Metallised BOPP Overlap Tape or BS476 Foil Overlap Tape, ensuring a complete and secure seal. Additional sealing and bonding can be achieved with Novia AirSeal 310 mastic sealant. Surfaces must be clean, dry, and free from dust or debris prior to application.
