Midland Lead Code 4 Roofing Lead Flashing is a premium quality cast lead sheet designed for demanding roofing and weatherproofing applications. Manufactured to BBA approved standards and produced using responsibly sourced recycled lead, it delivers exceptional durability, flexibility, and long-term performance across a wide range of roofing details.
With a thickness of 1.80mm, Code 4 lead flashing is suitable for heavier duty applications where additional strength is required while still remaining easy to work with. Typical uses include vertical cladding, hip and ridge flashings, parapet gutters, box and tapered valley gutters, bay tops, canopies, apron and cover flashings, and chimney flashings. Its natural malleability allows precise shaping around complex roof details, while the weight of lead helps prevent movement or lifting in exposed weather conditions.
Lead is naturally resistant to corrosion and, when installed correctly, offers a life expectancy well beyond 100 years. To maintain its appearance and reduce the risk of white staining caused by oxidation, patination oil should be applied during installation. This helps form a controlled surface finish and adds a subtle sheen, improving both performance and appearance over time.
Fully recyclable and manufactured using recycled materials, Midland Lead Code 4 remains a sustainable and environmentally responsible choice for long-lasting roof protection.

What Is Machine Cast Lead?
Machine cast lead is produced by passing a rotating, water cooled drum through a bath of molten lead. As the drum turns, a uniform sheet of lead forms on its surface before naturally peeling away at the top.
The lead sheet is then wound into large spools and cut down into rolls of specific sizes. This controlled manufacturing process ensures consistent thickness, reliable quality, and excellent performance for roofing and weatherproofing applications.
