Britannia Paints Rainshield Instant Waterproof Emergency Roof Leak Repair

Britannia Paints Rainshield is an instant waterproof emergency roof leak repair coating for urgent repairs in wet weather. Its solvent-based formula provides a temporary seal, helping you tackle a leaking roof before a permanent repair can be completed.

Rainshield can be applied in falling rain and even under water, making it a practical choice when a leak needs attention before conditions improve. It is suitable for repairs to flat roofs, pitched roofs and gutters, including weathered asphalt, bituminous surfaces, concrete, brickwork, GRP, fibreglass and metal.

Supplied ready to use in a clear finish, this roof repair coating can be poured directly onto the affected area or applied by brush, roller or squeegee. The fibre-containing formula helps bridge small holes, with reinforcing scrim required for larger repairs.

Available in a 5 litre container. Rainshield is an emergency repair coating; arrange a full inspection and a permanent repair once conditions allow.

Application guidance: Remove moss, debris, oil, grease and ice before coating. Pour directly onto the affected area or work generously into cracks and rough surfaces. Allow approximately 1–2.5 litres per m², depending on the substrate and conditions. Use reinforcing scrim for holes larger than 3mm. Touch dry in approximately 3–4 hours and fully cured in 6–7 days. The coating may whiten on wet surfaces.

Suitability: For exterior emergency repairs only. Not suitable for wooden surfaces, tanking, fishponds or internal use.
